My Travel Update

source site Hey everyone,

source link Melissa says “Hi!” πŸ˜€ I am having a great time here so far and I wanted to share a few of the photos and my plans. We really want to do a workout but today we are trying to head to Chicago so we don’t have enough time just yet. But we have at least managed to plan the workout on paper LOL!! Baby Steps πŸ˜‰

source After my journey, I was so tired. I thought I would never get to my destination and my head hurt so much. I must have drank 4+ litres of water and I was still dehydrated (but that may have had something to do with the 3 wines and 3 gins between the plane and the airport … ). But, ANYWAY I got there and received the warmest of welcomes from Melissa and her amazing family! What great people! Melissa’s husband even had a little Irish flag on their front door for me arriving – how cool is that! πŸ˜€

source Today, we are heading to Chicago and I hope to have some video footage of our shenanigans. I don’t know when I will get to upload stuff, but I hope it will be soon.Β  I realise I always say “soon” but my intentions are totally there!

engineering thesis help So here are some pictures for you: Melissa and I meeting at the airport after my LONG journey πŸ˜€ This is funny. A hospital beside McDonald’s! McDonald’s is so unhealthy they build hospitals beside them!! Haha!

uga application essay Us at Women’s Day, got a spruced up for this one πŸ˜‰ Don’t judge us for being happy about our wine supply for Chicago LOL!!

I will have more updates soon. I hope you are all still training away … I’m not, eek! But I will sooooon. I am so happy to be on holiday πŸ˜€

See you all later.

Wow I live in Chicago. Would have loved to see you two around.

First time posting. First let me say welcome to the states. Secondly, I do work out 6 days a week, between cardio and weight training, but just started researching KB workouts. I stumbled on your YouTube channel and that took my to your blog and I am pumped to mix up my workouts. Last September I was 325 pounds and today I am at an even 200 pounds. Any advice or workouts you think I should start with would be great. Like I said avid workouts but new to KB. Enjoy your vacation and look forward to some great advice and more workouts.

Hey Mike, thank you for welcoming me to the US. I have had such a great time!

I like the way you are open to spicing up your training and trying to keep things fresh and maintain the amazing results you have already had. Great inspiration for others.

Hope you will like the variety of workouts here πŸ˜€

I have gone through all of your videos and decided to start with Rock your body Kettle Bell style…..I will let you know how it goes tomorrow! Wish me luck!!!

I would like to say that your blog is really great. Challenging workouts, you are a nice person, good tips. Before I found this blog I had been following another site like it: bodyrock. but , unfortunately, now it has changed more into lifestyle bolg than fitness blog. Your workouts are greater because they are longer and feel that I burry calories very well! Now I ‘ m so excited because of your friend’s Melissa blog. I visited it and I ‘m looking forward to doing one of her workout.

    • Marianne says:

Aw thank you Magy! I know what you mean about the other blog. It’s hard not to share things that happen in our lives, but I always try and relate it back to fitness and how life can affect training etc. Though I do get somewhat deep and meaningful at times here and, talk about things non-fitness related too. However, I vow NEVER to do a fashion haul πŸ˜‰

Hope you enjoy the selection on workouts here and at πŸ˜€

Proportions of fitness tips, workouts, diet etc. and news from your life, are very good on your blog. It is great to meet you and your life and get from it some inspirations and reflections! It is really great here, on myomytv!

    Hi Marianne,

It looks like you’re having an amazing time with Melissa. I went there last year and had a blast. Took in a concert, ate deep dish pizza and visited the most heavenly of all places: Godiva! The gumbo was amazing as well. Sigh food. Once you return home, you’ll lose the happy travel weight in no time. So don’t even think about it. Just enjoy your time with good friends.

    • Marianne says:

Thanks Ana, think I have finally sweated out all the salt from that pizza, but it’s hard to tell LOL! Isn’t Godiva amazing though? mmm

Thanks for wishing me all the best πŸ™‚

    Hi Marianne & Melissa,
What great pictures !!! So pretty. You do look like sisters. Enjoy your holiday. Don’t worry about working out. Workouts you can do any time . Vacations, memories more important. See ya soon.

    • Marianne says:

Thank you Minnie! I am finding the food here so salty and I have been feeling very bloated, so the pressure to workout is growing as I will soon balloon to the size of a house LOL πŸ˜‰ But you are right that it can wait. It is only a week, and I will shrink back to my original Irish size when I get home. Even I am bigger in the US haha!!

  6. Fabi says:

It sounds and looks like you are having an amazing time!! Tell Melissa to post more videos on her channel, lol. She is amazing at putting workouts together, just like you!

  7. Mickela says:

you two are so so adorable together. I am very excited that you finally have met in person. I can’t wait to see the workout you put together.
Hope you are enjoying your travel time in the U.S.A

    • Marianne says:

Thanks Mickela, Missy says “hello”. My time here has been great so far, really it has been such a great experience and everyone is so friendly.

Hope you enjoy the workout we did πŸ™‚ We are a little crazy in it though LOL But we were just hyped up from the super strong coffee!

  8. Chad says:

Never really posted on here before, but my wife and I just started doing kettlebells a little over a month ago. I happen to find your site while looking for different kettlebell routines we could do in the future. I also have been reading Melissa’s website because of your recommendation on your links page Marianne. You know I never realized that Melissa lived in the same state as us. Because of you both we ended up going to see a RKC named Rick Huse near us; he helped us out greatly on the proper technique of handling the kettlebell. We mainly picked him because my wife has had back injuries in the past and was diagnosed with arthritis due to the wearing down of the cushion between two of her vertebrae. We plan on going once I month to see him to make sure our technique is correct and improving. I hope you both are having a great time and you just happen to come when the weather started cooling down. It has been really hot here lately (It has been around 90˚ Fahrenheit, which I think would be 32-33˚ Celsius). Glad to hear Melissa is still out there training, best to both you.

    • Marianne says:

Thanks Chad! That’s great that you are seeking the direction of a KB professional in person. Especially with the history of injury you wife has. I wish you all the best with your training. And, of course, I hope my workouts will help you enjoy KBs all the more.

Apparently, I have brought cooler weather with me, which is good for Melissa. Not for me, because I want a little bit of a tan for going home LOL. Still, it is warmer than Belfast, so it’s all good πŸ˜€

Thank you so much for commenting!

      • Chad says:

I know you have had too much of our salty food, but if you two are around Indianapolis. You must try out a place called ‘Taste Cafe and Marketplace’ for lunch. The Pommes Frites are the best I have ever eaten. It is one of our favorite places to go for a nice lunch. Taste is owned by two chefs from New York and Las Angeles. If you do go there be sure to only get one as they come in a small bucket enough for two to share.

      • Melissa says:

Chad, I WENT TO RICK!!!!!!! Isn’t he FABULOUS!?!? Did you train at his house? I first learned how to do a proper TGU in his backyard, lol. He is a very patient and knowledgeable man. I am very glad that you were able to get in and see him! Best of luck to your wife πŸ™‚ If you get the chance, could you make sure to leave him a positive review on Dragon Door? He deserves it πŸ™‚

        • Chad says:

Melissa, YES!!! He was a pretty cool dude, I really enjoyed my time training with him. Sadly we didn’t get to train at his house :(. We ended up training at the gym he manages due to his wife doing some sort of home improvement. He was so knowledgeable; he even took out a representation of a spine to show us what he believed was happening with Sarah’s spine based on what she told him. Now he did say he was no doctor, but that he has been around for a while and that he really hopes this can help alleviation some of her issues. Sarah was very glad that he was patient…he was able to teach us individually based on how he assessed how we both learn, even in the short time we were there; hope that made since. Did he make you do the stress tests? I was pretty down for only getting a 3 on my left side balancing and a 2 on my right. I even went home that night to practice on my right side again to see if it was just nerves :). Thank you for reminding to put up a review, I have been meaning to do that. He really does deserve the good reviews, I’m glad we were able to have him pass some of his knowledge to us. Speaking of that I need to get a hold of him for us to go back for a review on how we are doing. As he told us, he doesn’t want to see us get three screws in our shoulders like he did.

By the way how was Marianne’s trip with you? I’m sure you both had plenty of fun. It is nice to see that she was able to come all this way to spending time with you and your family. As I told Marianne I thank you both, even both your backgrounds in wanting to get healthier have really inspired both Sarah and me. I can already see a change in Sarah both physically and mentally. She is feeling more confident about herself.

          Thank you,

Welcome to the US! Must have brought a break in the heat with you. It’s gotten a lot cooler since then πŸ™‚

  10. Heidi says:

What is your advice on drinking and training (trying to get in shape/stay in shape)?

  11. Jim says:

Marrianne and Melissa, you both look great. I visit Melissa site once in awhile but she never updates it. It’s nice to see her doing well. Have fun!

  12. gryer says:

Its is so nice to see the two of you together — I know its a lot of time and money to come all the way across the Atlantic, but I am sure you are making lots of good memories. I have to give you and Melissa credit for my pathway — I got back into working out before I found you, but one day I was searching on youtube and found both of on the same day. Your stuff looked impossibly hard, so I opted for some of Melissa’s workouts, and they were tough too. Fast forwards, and I think I am in as good a shape as I have ever been! I absolutely give the two of you the most credit, as you both had endless enthusiasm and lots and lots of variety so I had no excuse not to work out.

I am looking forward to hearing more about the awesome women you meet.

    ~ Gillian

    • Marianne says:

Gillian, you are so kind to say this! Really, we are both humbled by this. But I believe that most of the credit should lie with yourself. I know both Melissa and I have learned so much from you, and many other have too. Your presence on both of our sites and the forum is greatly appreciated! I owe a whole other level of gratitude to you for wisdom beyond fitness, it has helped me a lot πŸ™‚

      Thanks you so much!
